Contract Manager's Monthly Report

We have now completed the main building to the sure start on programme, with the implications of delays with YEDL to connect the service to site (supply and meter etc). The external works are due to complete this week, which are on programme. We have an additional item of work (tarmac playground area) to the no mans land, which is between anlaby primary and the sure start, which is expected to be completed within the next 2 weeks. We have had a meeting with the client and White Young Green (clients agent) today, who have stated that we may carry out some extra work to the existing playground and landscaping to the primary school, which will delay the reinstatement of the temporary road crossing, as if we are to reinstate the temporary road crossing, as planned, it would close off the area to the car park, hence we would not be able to complete the car park works. We have had a good relationship with the client and school, throughout both projects.
The site managers for Anlaby Primary was Bernard Porter and for the sure start Louis Bradley, who have both carried out the projects to the requirements required and on programme and to budget. We will receive confirmation on the extent of the variation of works to the playground and landscaping early next week, after the funding has been agreed.

Contract Manager's report

We have currently carrying out works to flood damage, which is 3 no phases. Phase 1 has now been completed and phase 2 is now in progress. On phase 2 it was decided that extra works would be carried out, which involved removing of all the existing floors and installing new floors, which has increased the cost and may have an effect on phase 3.

The United Charities are now in discussion, regarding funding to carry out the phase 3 works, due to the extra cost of the new floors. At present we are to carry out the works to the corridor on phase 3 only, until we have confirmation on finding. Mark Smee is the site manager, who has progressed at a very fast rate throughout phase 1 and 2 and has managed to carry out all the extra works to the floors, with only an increase of 4 weeks to programme – outstanding achievement.

We have had very good relations with the client and residents and have coordinated the temporary accommodation with the residents, until their flats have been fully completed, which they have moved back into.
